Hi! That was a pumpkinseed sunfish. We have them up here in the PNW.

Next time, try some cricket, salmon egg, and small cheeseball. You'd be surprised how the trout gulp them. I have gotten old and most places near where we live, do not allow such baits. We can only do flyfishing. Maybe I will do a lot of that when I reincarnate! Dr. Ajit Thakur (USA).

literally the best way to fish, i fish almost exclusively wet flies at this point. i almost necer get skunked fishing flies. i fosh from 1/64 to abt 3/16 usually.

I actually think the music in just about EVERY fishing video is usually pretty obnoxious. I think fishing videos are far better without ANY music. I don't watch them to be serenaded, or to be whipped into a mood by the dang music. I want to concentrate on what's being said about the FISHING, nothing else.

I'll bet those were all very effective baits, if you were to have a fast retrieve. But, I know that would be counter-productive to the purpose of getting it on video.

Damn my secret is out haha. I always used pink for trout and I got that info from an old fisherman. This goes the same for pink plastic worms and such.

All I can say is you need better hooks than just plain bait holder hooks! Even a Gamakastu bait holder would be better! Just Saying!

What YOUR favorite feature to fish on a river?

So just an FYI...those drop shot weights you're using are designed in such a way as to simply use a length of line through the eye. No knots, loops or whatever, required. Just put the end of your line through that eye and pull it up until it snugs up into the pinched end. they're made that way so in case your drop shot weight gets snagged, the weight can slip free.

Power Bait always works for me. Never tried shrimp for trout but for Surf fishing works great the Perch love it!
